About Us

Hickory Industries Inc. is the world's largest and oldest manufacturer of commercial rotisseries, churrasco grills, and display warmers in the food service and retail markets, with over 57 models in both gas and electric for clients ranging from small mom-and-pop restaurants to big national chains.

Hickory Industries was founded in 1946 by Mr. Martin Kalman. Under his direction, Hickory had produced products ranging from rotisseries and warmers to stainless steel work tables. It has been operating out of a 46,000-square-foot facility in North Bergen, New Jersey, since August of 1994.

A new corporation was formed in October 1978, which purchased the assets and the name of the old corporation. Steven Maroti acquired Hickory Industries, then President, and Aniko Heller, vice-president and Secretary.

More recently, in 2017, Ayman Megala, purchased the company after working with Maroti through his role as upper management in a private, US-based quick food service company. Since its acquisition, Egyptian-American Ayman has been the owner-operator of Old Hickory, using his 20+ years of experience in the food service industry.

After his passing due to COVID-19 in 2021, his oldest daughter, Michelle, then 23 years old, took the reins and has been President and CEO ever since. She and her mother, Mrs. Megala, a Colombian-American, have dedicated their time and effort to carry on the company that fell on their laps. As a women and minority-owned business, they work to ensure Old Hickory continues manufacturing the quality products their customers deserve for many more years to come.
